Having made history in both the 2019 and 2024 local elections, Shane was elected on the first count, achieving the highest number of first preference votes in Ballyjamesduff. Shane is a family man married to Elisha and the father of five children who are all ingrained in the community.  His experience as a Funeral Director has given him a unique perspective on empathy and community service, as he regularly supports people during their most challenging moments.

Twice elected as Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, in 2014 and 2019, Shane has been a champion for positive engagement and practical solutions in his community.
