Ryan McKeown

General Election Candidate for Louth

Ryan McKeown Confirmed as Independent Ireland Candidate for Louth in Upcoming General Election

Ryan McKeown, a passionate community advocate has officially announced his candidacy to represent the Louth constituency in the upcoming general election. With a diploma in Professional Broadcasting and deep-rooted involvement in local initiatives, McKeown promises to bring fresh, energetic leadership to the people of Louth. His campaign is centered on giving voice to hardworking families and ensuring that future generations don’t have to leave their homes to seek opportunities abroad.

McKeown is driven by his personal experiences and his commitment to the community. He shared his inspiration for running, stating, “As someone who grew up in a working-class family, I know what it’s like to work hard and not see that effort rewarded. I’ve watched my parents give their all week after week and still struggle to make ends meet. With a young family of my own, I understand how challenging it is to manage bills and provide a secure future. I am running to ensure that the people of Louth are heard and that no one feels forced to leave home in search of a better life.”

Party leader Michael Collins expressed his full support for McKeown’s candidacy, saying, “Ryan McKeown has shown dedication, hard work, and a deep connection to the people he serves since he joined Independent Ireland. He understands the challenges facing working families because he’s lived them. I have no doubt that Ryan will be a strong voice for Louth and will fight tirelessly for a better future.”

Richard O’Donoghue, General Secretary of the party, echoed these sentiments, adding, “Ryan brings a fresh perspective to politics, and his energy and passion are exactly what we need in our candidates. He is deeply committed to improving the lives of ordinary people. We are proud to stand with Ryan as he embarks on this journey to represent Louth.”

McKeown’s decision to run for office was also fueled by the reality many young Irish people face today: the need to emigrate for better opportunities. “I was planning to emigrate to Australia, like so many others, in search of a better life. But I’ve decided to take a stand. We need change now, so future generations don’t have to hug their families goodbye and travel halfway across the world due to failed government policies. Louth deserves better, and I’m here to make sure we get it.”

As Ryan McKeown steps into the political arena, he is determined to bring about meaningful change for the people of Louth. His campaign will focus on addressing the needs of working families, advocating for better policies, and ensuring that Louth is a place where everyone can thrive.
