Independent Ireland TD Ken O’Flynn has today demanded greater accountability in public spending by local authorities, calling for large expenditures to come under the scrutiny of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). The Cork North-Central TD has expressed outrage at Cork City Council's €326,550 expenditure on the restoration of the 120-year-old Fireman’s Rest, a small structure "the size of a garden shed.

"Deal poses an immediate threat to Irish farmers, rural communities, and the EU’s own environmental and legal integrity — this is about safeguarding entire communities.”

Independent Ireland TD Ken O'Flynn has raised serious concerns about ongoing spending by the Office of Public Works (OPW), citing the €120,000+ expenditure on electric vehicle (EV) charging ports at Leinster House as a glaring example of "mismanagement and waste."
