Independent Ireland is proud to announce the candidacy of Cllr. Philip Sutcliffe for the Dublin South Central constituency in the upcoming general election. A renowned figure in Irish boxing, community development, and public service, Philip brings decades of experience and dedication to his community.

Philip Sutcliffe, a two-time Olympian who competed in the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games and a four-time national boxing champion, has been instrumental in youth development through sport in the Crumlin, Drimnagh, Ballyfermot, and Kimmage areas. In addition to his sporting achievements, Philip has been an Irish Army veteran and a key advocate for the High 5 programme at Crumlin Boxing Club, which works with children with autism and special needs, offering them opportunities for growth, discipline, and inclusion.

Since being elected to the Ballyfermot Drimnagh Local Electoral Area in 2024, Philip has tirelessly worked for his community and now seeks to bring his experience and values to a national level.
