With hands-on experience across so many sectors, Esther has a deep understanding of the diverse needs and challenges faced by the people of Limerick.

“I’m passionate about making a real difference for the people of Limerick,” said Aherne. “Whether it’s addressing the housing crisis, advocating for better health services, or ensuring everyone in our community has access to the support they need, I’m committed to working tirelessly for every resident.”

Esther’s experience in her family’s business, combined with her successful establishment of her own Health & Safety consulting business in 2015, has given her a unique perspective on the challenges faced by individuals and small business owners alike. Her qualifications in Training, Wellbeing, Fitness, Disability, and Mental Health underscore her commitment to creating inclusive solutions for all, especially for those who are vulnerable or underserved.

Having worked through Ireland’s economic booms and busts, Esther knows firsthand the struggles that many families and businesses face today. “From the housing crisis and long waiting lists in hospitals, to the elderly needing support, I understand these issues deeply because I live them alongside my community,” she added.

In a time when many feel silenced by fear of being cancelled or labeled for expressing their views, Esther Aherne believes in the importance of standing up for what’s right. “It takes courage to speak out in today’s climate, but I believe in leading with integrity and making sure every voice in our community is heard,” she said.
