Cllr Philip Sutcliffe
Cllr Sutcliffe was elected as a first time candidate to the Ballyfermot Drimnagh Local Electoral Area (LEA) in 2024.
Phil, who competed in the 1980 and 1984 Olympic Games and is a four-time national boxing champion, has been an instrumental figure in youth development through sport in the Crumlin, Drimnagh, Ballyfermot, and Kimmage areas of Dublin.
Phil, a double Olympian and world-class boxing coach, has dedicated his life to the betterment of his community. As an Irish Army veteran, he understands the importance of discipline, dedication, and service. Phil’s work with youth through Crumlin and Drimnagh Boxing Clubs has provided training, guidance, and support, fostering strong community values.
Phil shared his vision for his candidacy, stating: “I am passionate about continuing my work on a larger scale, focusing on enhancing facilities and support for youth in our city. It’s an honour to have the opportunity to bring the discipline and community spirit from the boxing ring to the council chambers.”
