Cllr Ken O'Flynn Appointed Interim Chairperson of Independent Ireland

Independent Ireland is proud to announce the appointment of Cllr Ken O'Flynn as the interim Chairperson of the party. The poll topping councillor and highly respected community leader and former Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr O'Flynn brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

Cllr O’Flynn's recent electoral success underscores his popularity and effectiveness as a public servant. In 2024, he was returned to Cork City Council with a historic 3,134 votes, topping the poll and finishing over 1,100 votes ahead of his nearest opponent.

Party leader Michael Collins praised Cllr O'Flynn's experience and dedication to Independent Ireland. "Ken's extensive experience and unwavering commitment to our party are invaluable. As interim Chairperson, he will serve as the main liaison with county councillors and the executive of Independent Ireland in the coming months. His leadership will be instrumental in steering the party forward.  We want to congratulate Ken and look forward to having his experience in dealing with people on the ground and understanding the real issues people face will be invaluable as we move forward towards a General Election"

Ken has a wealth of diverse business experience, having previously served as the president of Artisan Ireland. Additionally, he has contributed to esteemed organizations such as the board of directors of the Firkin Crane Theatre, the Everyman Theatre, and the Crawford Art Gallery. Ken's professional background spans across various sectors, including hospitality, international real estate, investment, and the automotive industry.
