Cllr Neary was elected as a first time candidate to the Bray East Local Electoral Area (LEA) in 2024 with a total of 1256 votes. Ian has a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and a long track record of community involvement, his goal is to bring a fresh perspective and a passion for positive change to the political arena.

Ian has been an integral part of the Bray community for decades. A proud Bray man, he attended Bray School Project and St. Brendan's/Woodbrook College before joining Visual Print as an embroidery machine operator in 2006, where he continues to work to this day. Ian's dedication to community service is evident through his involvement with local football team St. Peter's and his role as a committee member (P.R.O) for the Wicklow Football League. Ian's passion for sport and his community was recognised as he was an intrinsic member of the backroom team that helped St. Peters FC win a historic quadruple in Wicklow in 2023.

In addition to his commitment to local sports, Ian Neary has contributed significantly to various charitable endeavours over the years. From completing challenging events like the Munich Marathon to organizing charity football matches and fundraising for Suicide Awareness Dublin 15 and Wicklow Hospice, Ian has demonstrated his unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
