Cllr Ger Curley has a rich history of service and community engagement, Ger is dedicated to leveraging his extensive experience to foster a better and brighter future for the community.
Cllr Curley is a lifelong resident of Cobh, has a deep-rooted connection to the area. Married to Catherine, the local postmistress, and father to Thomas and Niamh, Ger’s family ties and personal investment in Cobh are profound. His early career in the Naval Service, where he served for 21 years, instilled in him a strong sense of duty and community, qualities he has carried into his civilian life.
After his naval career, Ger ventured into entrepreneurship, opening his first shop in 2000 and eventually expanding to three shops. In 2006, he took over the management of Jack Doyle’s bar, further cementing his role within the local business community. As a sports enthusiast, Ger has not only won 13 national medals in running but has also contributed to the community as a soccer coach and FAI coach, particularly focusing on youth and special needs programs in Cobh and Rochestown.
