From his formative years attending St. Patrick’s Boys National School to his education at De La Salle College and East Glendalough, Tim has always been deeply connected to the people both young and old that have lived in this vibrant community.

Speaking on his decision to get involved in local politics Tim said: "Over the past number of years I have taken an interest in politics, in the decisions and decision makers whose choices affect our lives in so many ways. I see the existing political parties and to me they are not listening or not responding to the hard working men and women of the country. More and more people feel ignored by many of the existing parties. In particular I hear this from young adults who are beginning to realise that the towns and communities they were raised in might not be the place that they can afford to raise families of their own.

I saw the disconnect first hand when I helped to organise meetings around concerns for our community and concerns for the existing residents of the Grand Hotel who had fully integrated into our community. Those concerns were ignored by the many established party politicians, whilst some went on to create a narrative that our community was bad for raising our concerns. It was this that was a key turning point, people deserve to be heard, they deserve to be listened to and I will stand for the people who may be afraid to speak. I will do it with no concern or fear of being labelled. I want to give those people a voice at the ballot box"

Linda has been particularly vocal about the recent plans by South Dublin County Council to pedestrianise parts of the village, which she believes will negatively impact residents and increase travel times unnecessarily.

Raymond chose Independent Ireland for its commitment to representative democracy. "I am choosing to run with Independent Ireland because it offers the possibility of becoming a structured and serious competitor to the main parties, and is designed—unlike others—to be representative of the electorate.
